Understanding what specific factors contribute to their growth—measured in this study by their current capital—is essential for crafting effective supporting policies.

Introduction

The idea for this project came to me when I was working as a research assistant intern at the East African Trading House plc. We were collecting data from local shops. With population information being scarce, we were told to sample from clusters using the administrative sub-city classifications of Addis Ababa. About 100 samples were going to be taken from each sub-city.

🎬 How It All Started

We’re a group of Statistics students who got curious: how much do our classmates really lean on AI tools like ChatGPT? We used this idea as a spring board for our end of year research project. We built a survey, crunched some numbers, and wrote up the results. The data are eye‑opening, the trends are interestingl, and (as we’ll happily admit) the sampling isn’t perfect.

🎮 How It All Started

It began like many fun things do — with friends, games, and a bit of competitive energy. In our dorm, we were deep into football games, especially 2024-modded Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 (PES 17) matches, playing in a mini-league we called The Impostors League. (We refer to ourselves as The Impostors after another one of our favorite games, Among Us.) The banter was there, the competition was present, and then someone said: “Wouldn’t it be cool if we started like a real league?”
